- Nanotechnology Coordinating Office (NCO) - established as a first step in making Minnesota more competitive in Nanotechnology. This office will provide a "one stop" interface between the University and the business community, and eventually between the University and the State of Minnesota, as it relates to nanotechnology efforts.
- Nanofabrication Center (NFC) - an interdisciplinary facility that supports faculty and industrial research within the Institute of Technology to support education, research and industrial collaboration in microelectronics and other related research involving nanofabrication.
- Minnesota Nano Technology Cluster (MiNTeC) - supports the development of nanotechnology. MiNTeC receives support from the National Science Foundation as a node in the National Nanotechnology Infrastructure Network (NNIN) to subsidize usage by all interested academic researchers and provides access to MiNTeC's multi-user facilities by industry researchers.
- Organization for Minnesota Nanotechnology Initiatives (OMNI) - a research center based on those areas where the U of M is best positioned to become a world-class leader in this field and where the impact of a center on the future development of the State's industries will be optimized.
- MoNalisa - the goal of the Molecular Nanosciences Alliance for Interdisciplinary Studies and Activities (MoNalisa) at the University of Minnesota is to stimulate interactions leading to interdisciplinary collaborations in research and education in molecular nanoscience and nanotechnology.
- Minnesota Nanotechnology Initiative (MNI) - a statewide, private sector led collaboration, involving industrial companies, higher educational institutions, government and investors to enhance nanotechnology research, development and commercialization in Minnesota. The MNI will serve as a policy and business advocate for moving Minnesota to a ranking among the top five U.S. centers for nanotechnology.
